About Us
GauzeStix was originally created to help older patients who had difficulty folding and handling gauze after dental extractions.
The concept evolved when Dr. César Talavera, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, noticed a female patient posting photos online showing her discomfort while removing blood-soaked gauze. That small but unpleasant moment overshadowed an otherwise excellent surgical experience.
Realizing the impact this had on patient comfort and the image of the practice, Dr. Talavera designed GauzeStix — a touch-free intraoral gauze holder that makes post-extraction care cleaner, easier, and more professional for patients and dental teams.
